Meet the Jurors
Andy Busam, Digital Director, Our State
Busam is the digital director at Our State where he oversees digital marketing, social media, website content development and special web projects. He recently sold his home in Greensboro using a fantastic NC REALTOR®, Tom Pickard. When not in the office or at home, he enjoys trying new restaurants with his wife, camping with friends and traveling across our beautiful state.
Duggins currently holds the position of Strategic Account Executive with CoreLogic, the nation’s leading provider of real estate data, analytics and multiple listing platforms. She is a 15+ year veteran in the real estate industry working closely with Boards of Realtors and Multiple Listing Services (MLS) all across the country. Duggins resides in Oak Ridge, NC with her husband and has one daughter who attends North Carolina State University in Raleigh.
Jon Hardy, Lennar Charlotte Division President
As a seasoned executive in home sales industry, Hardy has spent 27 years in Charlotte overseeing construction management, purchasing and community development. During his six-year tenure at Lennar, Hardy has led the company to 1,000+ annual sales. He enjoys the team he works with and feels success when customers attain their dream of homeownership.
Lauren McCombs, Promotions and Marketing Director, DBC Radio
McCombs came to work for DBC Radio in 2011 as the Promotions and Marketing Director after relocating from a similar position in Eastern North Carolina. After graduating from UNC-Wilmington in 2007, Lauren worked in various radio stations around the state and joined the 2 Guys Named Chris Morning show in early 2015. In a room full of men, she holds her own with southern sass and spirited comments. She is a craft beer aficionado, loves the Carolina Panthers and to cook for her friends and family.
Rob Rusczak, Manager of the Home Ownership Lending Group, North Carolina Housing Finance Agency
Rusczak has been Manager of the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA) mortgage lending group since 2007, overseeing the underwriting, program administration and marketing of NCHFA’s various home buyer programs. He trains REALTORS®, lenders and home buyers on managing credit, the ins and outs of the home buying process and the mortgage process. Prior to NCHFA, he has 20 years of mortgage banking and marketing experience, including loan originator for the nation’s largest mortgage lender. He has a degree in Economics from American University, an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and is completing a Master’s degree in Public Administration at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Lisa Scoble, CIC, CRM, Vice President – Program Business, Pearl Insurance
Scoble has managed the Real Estate Errors and Omissions program for Pearl Insurance since 1994. She is currently Pearl’s Vice President of Program Business with a concentration on product development and managing Pearl’s Strategic Partner relationships. Scoble has also held her real estate license in Michigan for over 20 years in an effort to keep abreast of issues in the real estate market. She has been a licensed Michigan insurance producer for over 25 years. She also holds her Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Risk Manager designations from the National Alliance.
Jody Wainio, Owner/Broker, Buyer’s Choice Realty LLC
Wainio earned a real estate license in 1986, but it was not until 2001 that she made real estate her full-time, life-long profession and got involved with the Wilmington Regional Association of REALTORS® (WRAR), serving as the first chair of the Partners for Affordable Homeownership Committee – a committee that focuses on education and outreach for our members and the public. She later served on the WRAR Board of Directors, Cape Fear Housing Coalition of Southeastern NC, New Hanover County Commissioners Affordable Housing Ad Hoc committee and Homes4NC where she worked to implement a REALTOR® education program known as Workforce Housing Specialist. Throughout her career, she received multiple accolades due to her community outreach, including: the 2007 Homes4NC Affordable Housing Achievement Brokerage Award, 2014 NC REALTORS Region 2 Service Award and the 2015 WRAR Realtor of the Year Award. She is passionate about serving the community and promoting affordable housing.
The Smart Move™ Contest is open to current legal residents of North Carolina who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry who purchased or sold their primary residence within the past 24 months with the assistance of an NC REALTOR®.
2. CONTEST TIMELINE
The Contest begins on July 15, 2016 at 12:01am EDT and ends on August 15, 2016 at 11:59pm EDT. On or about August 29, 2016, NC REALTORS® will select potential winners after a jury vote from among all eligible entries received. The potential winners will be notified by email, mail or phone.
3. WHAT TO SUBMIT
Entry types include: a video (no more than 500mb), a series of photos (no more than 500mb in size total), a written essay, electronic representation of graphic or visual art (no more than 500mb), and/or another creative deliverable to be approved on a case-by-case basis. All materials must be uploaded via the website upload widget in a single file (a single zip folder or PDF file, for example). Multiple files will not be accepted. All submitted materials must be the equivalent of G, PG or PG-13 rated.
Winning Consumer: $7,500 cash that can be used towards a home remodeling project (or spent at the winner’s discretion) and a two-night stay at The Greenbrier Resort 9/9- 9/13 during the NC REALTORS® Conference with exclusive guest pass access, paid conference registration, including hotel accommodations, per diem up to $125/day for no more than three days, and either car rental plus fuel reimbursement or roundtrip mileage (reimbursed at the federal approved rate of .54/mile) to and from the hotel from their permanent home location.
NC REALTOR®: $2,500 cash, paid registration to the NC REALTORS® Conference, including a two-night stay at The Greenbrier Resort 9/9-9/13, per diem up to $125/day for no more than three days, and either car rental plus fuel reimbursement or roundtrip mileage (reimbursed at the federal approved rate of .54/mile) to and from the hotel from their permanent home location.
Local Association: $2,000 cash towards future philanthropic and community engagement events.
